Description
Synvisc Hylan G-F 20 (3 x 2 ml)
Intensive hyaluron therapy helps with osteoarthritis or as a prevention of joint wear. Joint complaints and joint pain can be relieved and painlessness, but at least a significant pain relief can be achieved. The joint mobility is improved, the activity can be increased and thus more joie de vivre arise!
Synvisc is a second-generation hyaluronic acid: the individual conventional hyaluronic acid molecules are interconnected, so that the properties of healthy, human synovial fluid can be optimally recreated. This improves the shock-absorbing and lubricating properties and the hyaluronic acid liquid stays longer in the joint than the conventional unt crosslinked variant. The body’s own hyaluronic acid production is sustainably stimulated and the joints can better protect themselves after treatment.
Synvisc also inhibits the release of cartilage-destroying enzymes and thus protects the joint cartilage from further wear – the progression of osteoarthritis can be slowed down.
Depending on the joint, hyaluronic acid therapy includes one to six syringes into the joint affected by osteoarthritis at a weekly, sometimes monthly.
Hylan G-F 20 is a sterile, pyrogen-free, elastoviskose, Hylane-containing liquid. Hylanes are derivatives of hyaluronan (sodium salt of hyaluronic acid) and consist of repetitive disaccharide units of N-acetylglucosamine and sodium glucuronate. The average molecular weight of Hylan A is approximately 6,000,000 Dalton and Hylan B is a hydrogenated gel. Hylan G-F 20 contains Hylan A and Hylan B (8.0 mg of 2.0 mg per ml) in a buffered physiological sodium chloride solution (pH 7.2 – 0.3)
ATTENTION – important note: Synvisc pre-filled syringes are intended for injection by a doctor. Since the injection technique is essential for the success of the treatment, it may only be used by doctors who can demonstrate special training.
